Pediatric Hepatitis
In the past 6 weeks, 650 (of which 222 in the UK and 216 in the US) probable cases of acute hepatitis of unknown etiology in children have been reported to WHO. Some of these cases are more clinically severe and a higher proportion develops acute liver failure (38 cases requiring transplant) compared with previous reports of acute hepatitis of unknown etiology in children.
