Thank you for participating in the inaugural virtual Maine Nursing Preceptor Education Program. As a reminder, the program consists of eight webinar modules, an optional ninth module on the Maine Core Competencies, and a live workshop, which will be hosted on Zoom the mornings of November 4 and 5 from 8:00 - 12:30 pm.

Modules 1 and 2 are available; additional modules will be released each week.  You will receive an email announcement each week when new modules have been posted.

If you were a participant in the spring 2020 program, which was canceled, you can pick up where you left off with the modules!  Just log-in to the system with your username and password.  We do, however, recommend that you review the materials as it has been many months since you saw it.  If you've forgotten your password or username, you can retrieve both by entering your email address on the "reset password" page.

Click here to download a document with instructions for creating an online account to access the modules and tips for navigating the website. We encourage you to print and reference this document. Note: You must create an account to access the modules; please save your username and password as you'll need to login each time.

This program is an evidence-based, blended learning program consisting of on-line learning modules and a live work shop. The content is designed to facilitate attendees developing the knowledge, skills and abilities to guide and support the orientation, integration, satisfaction and retention of three nursing cohorts - newly graduated nurses, nurses transitioning to new practice settings and nursing students. The program content will also advance participants' knowledge about principles and practices for effective teaching and learning and the art and science communication and evaluation, enhance on-going professional development and lifelong learning, and support the development of emerging nurse leaders.

The online component of the program consists of eight required learning modules (webinars) for completion and one elective module.  The titles and release dates for the online learning modules are listed below.  The average length of time to complete a learning module is 30-45 minutes.  Two modules will be launched each week and the first two modules will launch on 9/17/2020. The remaining modules will be launched on the following dates:

Modules 3 & 4 - 9/24/2020
Modules 5 & 6 - 10/1/2020
Modules 7, 8 & 9 - 10/8/2020

Please note: the live workshop via Zoom is designed to afford the learner opportunities to apply the knowledge gained through completing the learning modules.  Completion of all eight learning modules at least one week prior is a requirement for attendance at the live workshop via Zoom. Completing the 9th module is elective.
