great to hear more detail about how to obtain that good blood pressure, but also how to caviet when it's not possible and we move to other locations such as the leg. Also reassuring to see the data showing the most important part of predicting someone decompensation with their BP is to just pay attention.

Excellent review with numerous learning pearls on ED management of orthopedic injuries! Would love spaced repetition and building on this content!

Phenomenal review and updates for EM practice! Very much appreciated the insights from both guest speakers. Excited to implement what I've learned on my next clinical opportunity to do so!

Thiago Oliveira replied on

Excellent review of literature base, best practices, and practical treatment guidance for delirium in the ED setting. Several learning points that can be applied on my next shift, including reminder to maintain high level of suspicion for delirium with patients who are not demanding much attention of the clinical team!

Thiago Oliveira replied on

It's interesting to see the changes in trends in street drugs over the years, and how we really need to stay up to date with what our patient's experiences. Contamination of fentanyl is so common, we should be offering fentanyl testing strips to our patients with PSUD as a standard of care.

Tanesha Beckford replied on

Great refresher, esp with the oncologic cases we see.

Tanesha Beckford replied on

Often hard to get hands on experience for some of these at an academic center, but early reduction is key. Great review of the anatomy!

Tanesha Beckford replied on

Being able to interrogate in the ED without waiting for EP to come down with the devices can definitely help to optimize patient care, and ED dispositions.

Tanesha Beckford replied on

The case was a great review of how buprenorphine can drive patients into opioid withdrawal if they have recently used.  Adjunct medications should definitely be optimized for patients who suffer with OUD withdrawal.  Looking forward to using the new OUD order set.

Tanesha Beckford replied on

Great in-depth review of the physiology and highlights the need to consider BP trends over time.

Tanesha Beckford replied on

Good review of the most common presentations for runners. Check the sodium and POC glucose!

Treatment of early delirium in the emergency department can be the first preventative step in care for our elderly patients.  Great review!
