Time to Ask

Time to Ask

The Time to Ask: Education that transforms conversations about alcohol use program contains three components – Education and Training for Providers, Organization Practice Facilitation and Expert Consultation and Facilitation.  The Education and Training for Providers component is comprised of three learning modules.  The modules are designed to provide each member of the interprofessional health care team with the knowledge base and skill set to engage patients in meaningful conversations about alcohol use.  Additionally, the program provides team members with a foundation to implement an interprofessional collaborative practice model, to support an efficient, effective, compassionate approach to patient centered alcohol education and care.

The Time to Ask (TTA) learning modules have been developed in collaboration with Dawn Williamson, RN, DNP, PMHCNS-BC, CARN-AP, an ad hoc member of the Time to Ask Advisory Team.  Dr Williamson is Board Certified as a Clinical Specialist in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing and a Certified Advanced Practice Addictions Registered Nurse.  Module One and Module Three include slide content from Dr Williamson’s doctoral study to implement nursing education about treating patients with alcohol use disorders and compassion fatigue for emergency department nurses.

The Lunder Dineen Team thanks the following members of the Time to Ask Advisory Team for their support in helping to develop and review the learning content for this program including: Noah Nesin, MD, FAAP, Stephanie Nichols, PharmD, BCPS, BCPP, and Mark Publicker, MD, FASAM, ABAM Diplomate. A special thank you to John F.
