Advanced Airway & Line Placement Techniques Workshop 2026
This is a live, in-person activity.
This hands-on workshop is designed to reinforce and maintain anesthesia providers’ knowledge and technical skills in advanced vascular access and airway management procedures that may be encountered infrequently in general anesthesia practice. Faculty anesthesiologists with expertise in thoracic and vascular anesthesia will provide instruction and supervised practice in advanced central and arterial line placement, lung isolation and double-lumen tube techniques, airway exchange catheters, jet ventilation, cricothyrotomy, and intubation through a laryngeal mask airway (LMA). The activity is intended to enhance procedural readiness, confidence, and patient safety when these techniques are required in clinical practice.
Target Audience
This activity is intended for practicing anesthesiologists & CRNAs who frequently focus their practice in general anesthesia, but at times have to cover in areas that require more specialized skills, such as thoracic & vascular anesthesia cases.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate appropriate techniques and strategies for advanced central venous and arterial line placement.
- Demonstrate appropriate techniques for advanced airway management, including lung isolation, double-lumen tube placement, airway exchange catheter use, jet ventilation, cricothyrotomy, and intubation through a laryngeal mask airway.
- Select and appropriately apply advanced airway and vascular access techniques based on the clinical circumstances and patient needs.
- Demonstrate increased procedural readiness and confidence in managing infrequently encountered airway and vascular access challenges.
