MGPO & BWPO Healthcare Leadership Program (HCLP) 2024-2025
This activity is accessible by invitation only.
The Massachusetts General Physicians Organization (MGPO) and Brigham and Women’s Physicians Organization (BWPO) have combined their respective Leadership Programs to create a collaborative program that builds upon the successes of both longstanding programs. The purpose of the program is to provide physicians and non-physicians the skills necessary to assume greater leadership roles within the hospital and Mass General Brigham system. The program focuses on leadership skills, operations management, financial management and specific tools and skills helpful to physician, nursing, research, advanced practice providers and senior administrative leaders at BWH and MGH. The overarching goal of the program is to better prepare our physician leaders to excel in their responsibilities as leaders in the ever-changing world of healthcare. The program provides a monthly, four-hour, class for up to 43 selected participants over a 2-year cycle. The course topics include organizational leadership, financial leadership, general management skills, as well as health care specific issues such as quality and safety. In addition to providing these individuals with mechanisms to succeed within the current environment, we hope that having a better-prepared cohort of mid-level leaders and managers would help the MGPO/BWPO succeed as an organization.
