Living in Families with Emotions (LIFE) Training 2025
LIFE teaches adolescents how to recognize their feelings and talk about emotions, and healthy ways of responding to difficult experiences & feelings. LIFE uses brief lessons about how emotions work, group discussions, live exercises, and example situations that illustrate the concepts. Through two research studies, the LIFE program has been found to reduce early symptoms of mental health conditions, and improve emotion regulation. Through this training, participants can learn to deliver LIFE with adolescents experiencing mental health concerns.
Target Audience
This activity is intended for physicians, psychologists & social workers within Mass General Brigham.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Acquire evidence-based skills taught in LIFE (mindfulness, emotion recognition, emotion regulation, social skills training)
- Demonstrate competence in delivering LIFE with adolescents experiencing mental health challenges
- Develop an understanding of how different roles work within a team with adolescents to support positive mental health skills
