Launching a New Paradigm in Mentoring in Anesthesiology
The 2026 Mass General Brigham Department of Anesthesiology/George E. Battit, M.D. Family Foundation Faculty Development Retreat is a gathering of members of the integrated MGB academic anesthesiologists to learn, collaborate, and innovate our mentoring processes. Faculty members who have been recognized for their expertise in mentoring will share their individual experiences, Didactic lectures by award winning mentors will address career benefits of mentoring, establishing a professional niche, and phases of vulnerabilities in a career where mentoring is critical. Break out session are focused on intellectual exploration into how our department can launch a new, impactful paradigm in mentoring where structure and measurement play a key role.
Target Audience
This activity is intended for faculty members of Mass General Brigham Department of Anesthesiology.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- List effective strategies and lessons from successful mentors
- Recite how mentoring can advance the career of the mentor
- Identify and manage mentoring at vulnerable phases of an academic career.
- Contribute to innovating and creating a new paradigm for mentoring for the Mass General Brigham Department of Anesthesiology through team-based exchange of ideas
