DESCRIPTION:

This lecture series provides cutting edge updates on topics of clinical importance to local specialists in the fields of Allergy and Immunology as well as specialists in the field of Pulmonary Medicine, ENT and Dermatology from the local teaching hospitals in Boston as well as the surrounding communities. The audience also includes fellows in training in allergy and immunology, Pulmonary Medicine and ENT. By selecting speakers of national renown and addressing a spectrum of topics, this series is a major educational event in the monthly academic calendar in Boston.


LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the public health impact of pediatric & adult food allergy in the US.
  2. Characterize the various barriers to managing food allergies, including access to care, economic impact, food insecurity & psychosocial outcomes.
  3. Discuss developments in prevention, diagnostics & treatments.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

This activity is intended for all academic and community based allergists, pulmonologists, ENT specialists, dermatologists, fellows in training, and nurses. It is targeted to the greater Boston and Eastern Massachusetts area.
