2019 DF/BWCC Network Education Day
The course is designed to give medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and midlevel providers updated information regarding the management of a broad spectrum of cancer types. The primary audience for this activity are oncologists practicing in a community-based setting. In this setting, general oncologists are in need of up-to-date information on the management of a variety of common and less-common cancer types and are limited in their ability to develop an in-depth expertise on any one diagnosis.
Our annual network education day proposes to provide practitioners knowledge in the current state of the science in the management and prevention of cancers, thus addressing the gap in knowledge. Moreover, through lectures, case-based presentations, and Q & A, our faculty put this knowledge base into the context of clinical practice to allow practitioners to integrate this knowledge into routine clinical practice, addressing a gap in learner competence and performance
Target Audience
This activity is intended for medical and radiation oncologists as well as mid-level providers (i.e. nurse practitioners and physician assistants) from DFCI and DF/BWCC network locations including satellites and community practices, in addition to medical and radiation oncologists from regional affiliates including members of the "DF/BWCC Cancer Care Collaborative" (Stamford Hospital, Berkshire Medical Center, Eastern Maine Medical Center, UMass Memorial Medical Center, Cape Cod Hospital, New England Cancer Specialists), Lifespan Cancer Institute, Steward healthcare, Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre.
