This is a live, hybrid activity.
This activity is designed for orthopaedic surgeons, plastic surgeons, general surgeons, fellows, research fellows, residents, occupational therapists, and medical students with an interest in hand and upper extremity surgery, particularly those that are involved in teaching, research, and writing. This course offers interactive learning formats that include debates, Q&A, case presentations, didactic lectures and group discussions. Participants will benefit from immediate feedback on where concepts and practices fit within the best evidence and standard approaches. The course will reinforce scientific methods and system approaches that can reduce unwarranted variation, and optimize care of hand and upper extremity illness, leading to improvements in leaner competence and performance.
Target Audience
This activity is intended for physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, occupational therapists, physical therapists, fellows, residents & med students.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Identify and analyze fracture patterns and ligament injuries about the hand and wrist.
- Integrate data on complex injuries about the hand and wrist, in day to day patient care.
- Identify, investigate, execute timely treatment, start early rehabilitation to maximize outcomes.
- Recognize methods of nerve repair and coverage for recalcitrant or acute injuries / compression of the median and radial sensory nerves.
- Summarize surgical techniques and pearls utilized by experts, that may be translated into everyday practice by healthcare team.
