Workforce Development will consider strategies for fostering recruitment, professional growth, and retention of a clinical research workforce representative of intended participant populations in clinical trials.

Target Audience

This activity is intended for professionals and staff, leadership, and administration involved in Medical Oncology and Hematology with particular relevance to clinical research. The audience includes investigators, practicing providers, clinical trialists, clinical trials office staff, nurse practitioners, nurses, research nurse specialists, physician assistants, clinical research coordinators, and other frontline staff; Regulatory/IRB committee members, and others with basic experience conducting clinical trials.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Review the importance of a more representative clinical research workforce towards increasing participation of underrepresented populations in clinical trials.
  2. Review measures to evaluate progress in DEI of the clinical research workforce.
  3. Review opportunities for fostering professional growth in clinical research.
  4. Identify strategies for recruitment and retention of underrepresented clinical research personnel.

Each discussion session will also be recorded and posted to this learning platform one day following the live presentation. All recordings will be accessible until one week following the live presentation of Module 6.
