Alternative Ways to Care for Patients on Chronic Opioids
Dr. Evan Gale, MGH Physician, will review best practices for prescribing Buprenorphine as an alternative for patients on chronic opioids. This training will discuss target patient populations who would benefit from tapering off chronic opioids and onto Buprenorphine. This training will focus on micro dosing Buprenorphine as a technique to help patients transition from continuing their chronic opioid use.

Define the process and best practice for providers to taper patients from chronic opioids to Buprenorphine.
Describe pathways to ensure the least impact on patient withdrawal from tapering from opioids to an alternative medication.
