BWH Nature as Medicine: Supporting Health, Resilience & Community 2023

A rapidly growing body of scientific evidence establishes the need for time in nature exposure to green space, and wellbeing activities such as Forest Therapy to support and promote human health. This course is a one hour live streamed introduction to the science behind the health benefits of nature, including physical health, mental health, and cognitive performance. The course also provides practicing clinicians with exposure to programs that promote provider wellbeing and leadership, as well as tools to incorporate nature prescribing into their clinical practice.

Target Audience

This activity is intended for Primary Care Physicians, Nurses, Physician Assistants & Psychologists across the Mass General Brigham system.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Review the latest scientific advances in nature and medicine.
  2. Apply the health benefits of nature into clinical practice.
  3. Recognize practitioner wellness opportunities available through these practices.
  4. Describe the public health benefits of exposure to nature and green space.
