Gender-Based Violence & Water, Sanitation & Hygiene: Unraveling the Intersections

This course is a training on the intersections between gender-based violence (GBV) and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) in disaster and humanitarian settings.

Target Audience

This activity is intended for physicians, nurses, and other global health professionals involved/interested in global disaster response and humanitarian action.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify the relationship between WASH & GBV.
  2. Review the WASH Program planning process.
  3. Describe WASH strategies for GBV prevention.
  4. Identify productive and efficient ways for physician-nurse teams to collaborate, communicate, and support each other in their care of GBV survivors in disaster settings.
