Integrative Medicine Network Forum 2020
Description
The Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School invites the Boston integrative medicine community to join us for the third biennial Integrative Medicine Network Forum. Since 2014, each of our conferences have convened over 300 integrative medicine researchers, educators and clinicians from across Harvard, Boston and further afield. We invite you to connect, collaborate and co-create at this year’s Forum.
The 2020 Integrative Medicine Network Forum will be centered around ‘Learning Horizontally and Vertically: Building Networks Within and Between Healthcare Providers.’ Within this context we will explore the following themes:
- Resiliency – for the healthcare provider of the future;
- Inter-professional education – learning horizontally and vertically;
- Diversity, Equity & Inclusion – learning through our differences.
Target Audience
This activity is intended for integrative medicine practitioners, educators, students, and researchers, faculty and trainees from across New England in a collaborative setting to foster enhanced learning across the integrative medicine field.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Recognize the epidemic of healthcare provider burnout, and how individual- and systems-based approaches are needed to promote well-being and resilience.
- Formulate the value and importance of interprofessional education in traditional healthcare fields (e.g. physicians, nurses) and integrative medicine fields (e.g. chiropractic care, acupuncture).
- Appraise cultures of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace environment, and its contribution to better patient care
