July 27, 2026 Leading Resilience Training
In this training, we teach participants how to lead a Resilience Training workshop with students. The goal of Resilience Training, which is a 4-session, group-based workshop, is to boost the emotional resilience of students, to help prevent mental health difficulties before they emerge or before they begin to interfere with students’ academic, personal, and life trajectories. Research shows that college students who participate in Resilience Training experience sustained improvements in well-being, with lower levels of depression and loneliness, as well as increases in resilience-enhancing skills, such as mindfulness and self-compassion. The training consists of video-based instruction along with 5 hours of live teaching, which includes experiential exercises, role-playing, and group discussions, as well as weekly supervision and all of the materials needed to facilitate the workshop.
Target Audience
This program is intended for anyone who works with college students, including advisors, administrators, professors, lecturers, counseling center staff, and trainees.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Acquire evidence-based skills taught in LRT (mindfulness, self-compassion, mentalization)
- Demonstrate competence in delivering RT with college students with mental health challenges
- Develop an understanding of how different roles work within a system or organization to support positive mental health skills
