MGB Foundations of AI in Healthcare 2026
This is a virtual course.
The Foundations of AI in Healthcare course is a five-session continuing medical education (CME) program designed to equip providers, nurses, and staff with a foundational understanding of artificial intelligence and its safe, effective, and ethical use across clinical, administrative, and research settings. Participants will gain essential knowledge, practical skills, and strategies for integrating AI tools into workflows while maintaining clinical oversight, patient trust, and compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
Target Audience
This activity is intended for healthcare providers (clinicians, nurses, APPs), researchers, and staff across Mass General Brigham.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Describe core AI concepts and terminology relevant to healthcare
- Identify approved non-clinical and clinical AI platforms available for enterprise use
- Describe real world AI applications in Epic, including ambient documentation
- Discuss how AI supports collaborative research and innovation across healthcare professions
- Apply organizational guidelines for secure, private, and responsible AI use
