Mass General Brigham Optimizing the Care of Patients with Alzheimer's, Related Dementias, and Delirium (For BORIM)
Program Description
The goal of this activity is eLearning for MDs and APPs across Mass General Brigham to support Dementia and Alzheimer's education and to meet MA Board of Registration in Medicine Licensure Requirements.
Target Audience
This activity is intended for Physicians, NPs, PAs, who treat adult patients, or potentially interact with adults in the care environment (e.g. parents/care givers in pediatrics) across Mass General Brigham.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- State the prevalence and impact of Alzheimer's disease, related dementias, and delirium in the United States.
- Recognize the history, signs, and symptoms of patients with Alzheimer's disease, related dementias, and delirium to support diagnoses and appropriate care.
- Document the next steps with patients with newly diagnosed or progressing Alzheimer's disease, related dementias, and delirium.
- Treat patients and supporting caregivers with respect, confirming decision-making, advance care planning, and medication.
