Description
Dr. Bates and Dr. Mort will share the rationale for and results of the recently published study, The Safety of Inpatient Care, (N Engl J Med 2023;388:142-53). Recommendations for accelerating improvement will be shared and audience engagement will be encouraged.

- Discuss the most common types of adverse events for hospital inpatients, and which are most likely to be preventable.
- Explain how measuring and reporting adverse events are key to identifying areas of opportunity for improvement.
- Discuss the role of safety culture implementation and strong management across all disciplines in respect to safety and quality.
