The Neuroscience of Meditation, Cognitive Reappraisal, and Resilience
This course explores the science of the stress response and strategies to practice to help manage stress.
Target Audience
This activity is intended for nurses within the MGB Medical Group who practice in primary care and specialties.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Associate interactions among the mind, brain, and body as they relate to stress and resilience.
- Examine beneficial neural changes associated with mindfulness and meditation.
- Demonstrate skill in using stress as a catalyst for learning, development, and healing.
- Identify two techniques that rewire the brain towards self-compassion.
- Recognize the connections between the microbiome and diet, and how this relationship contributes to overall resilience and well-being.
