November 19, 2024 MGB Medical Group AVADE Workplace Violence Prevention & Self Defense
We're committed to ensuring the safety of our practices, employees, patients & visitors. Beginning this Fall, Police, Security & Outside Services will be offering in-person AVADE Workplace Violence Prevention Trainings for all staff & providers across the Mass General Brigham Medical Group. AVADE is an acronym for Awareness-Vigilance-Avoidance-Defense-Escape. AVADE Training is the most comprehensive, current & effective approach to preventing, avoiding & mitigating violence and aggression in the workplace, and it specifically complies with state, federal, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and Joint Commission standards for workplace violence prevention. AVADE Training helps staff be prepared to de-escalate aggressive individuals, manage unintentional violence, provide trauma-informed care, develop & increase awareness, physically defend themselves should the need arise, and more.
