Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

1. Identify key literature in both common and uncommon pediatric presentations in the emergency department and guide discussion regarding limitations of research in the pediatric populations (small study numbers, extrapolating data from adult literature).  Following discussions of new primary literature that is shaping guideline changes, our participants will be able to analyze and assess new research in applying it to individual clinical practice.  
2. Show initiatives within the pediatric emergency medicine community aimed at reducing unnecessary testing in alignment with metrics from Choosing Wisely for PEM.  
3. Identify difficulty with accessing pediatric subspecialty guidance in real-time, we will use our series to improve familiarity with subspecialty providers.  As new MGHfC clinical pathways become developed, we will take the opportunity to invite the stakeholders to have a robust case-based discussion supported by primary literature that underpins the new practice guidelines.  Thus, the benefit will be two-fold, allowing community partners to interact directly with subspecialists as well as sharing the optimal way to provide evidence-aligned care.  New pathways for next year include first time unprovoked seizure, cyclic vomiting, among many others.  
4. Identify and order the correct radiologic test the first time and reduce the need for unnecessary transfers for imaging that might not be helpful.
