Description

This activity provides on-demand archived lectures from the BWH Department of Anesthesiology Grand Rounds & Clinical Conference 2024-2025 series. The BWH Department of Anesthesiology Grand Rounds & Clinical Conference 2024-2025 series will provide up-to-date evidence-based education on perioperative care best practices, including preoperative assessment and optimization, intraoperative management, and postoperative care. It will focus on the latest guidelines and recommendations from professional societies, such as the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), and current peer-reviewed literature.  The activity will utilize case studies, interactive discussions, and practical demonstrations to facilitate learning and encourage the application of evidence-based strategies in clinical practice strategies in clinical practice.  Furthermore, will hold Morbidity and Mortality conferences to exercise internal quality control and improvement.

Target Audience

This activity is intended for Physicians and CRNAs with specialties of Anesthesiology.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. At the conclusion of M&M lectures, participants will identify common pitfalls in the perioperative care of the patient and how to avoid them.
  2. At the conclusion of clinical conferences, participants will be able to describe the most up-to-date clinical research in the various subspecialty areas of Anesthesiology and will consider how to apply research results to patient care.
  3. At the conclusion of this lecture series, participants will be knowledgeable about the latest equipment and technologies, necessary for the delivery of anesthesia such as esophageal dopplers, ultrasound, ventilators and ECMO.
