Treating Alcohol Use Disorder

The lecture covers core topics in addiction medicine, including screening, diagnosis, and treatment of Alcohol Use Disorder. 

Target Audience

This activity is intended for practitioners with a DEA registration to prescribe controlled substances, including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other clinicians with prescriptive authority.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Define unhealthy alcohol use & alcohol use disorder (AUD).
  2. Review assessment & management of AUD.
  3. Describe how to integrate treatment into clinical practice.
  4. Demonstrate increased understanding of alcohol use disorder diagnosis and treatment basics by interdisciplinary team members to be able to effectively care for patients.
