Women with spinal cord injury (SCI) face barriers to health care that may lead to medical conditions going unrecognized or untreated due to attitudinal, environmental, economic, and informational barriers as they navigate the health care system. This educational course will help providers who serve women with SCI build capacity to provide optimal care for women with SCI by reviewing important aspects of primary and specialty care for women with SCI, including:

As there is more demand on the clinical staff in a clinical practice setting, there is a need to address how the increase in that demand is affecting clinicians. Providing methods for recognizing the signs of burnout, managing work related tasks, coping with stress, increasing physical activity, improved nutritional intake, can assist in making better choices. Literature has shown that when providers make healthy choices, they pass on that knowledge to others, which can include the patient population.
New nurse resident participate in a hospital residency program to support their transition from student to nurse. Part of the professional development of a nurse includes an understanding of the value and importance of evidence based practice. This topic is not adequately covered in nursing education due to competing required topics of learning. The new nurse needs education on EBP to foster inquiry, and connect its relationship to practice.Release Date:July 2024

THIS IS A HYBRID COURSECurrent treatment strategies for patients with complex digestive disorders continue to evolve.  This is largely the result of growing technological advances in surgery and endoscopy. The goal of the Minimally Invasive and Novel Therapeutics (MINT) course is to inform physicians on how best to incorporate these technologies into their practice.
