Description
Feelings of isolation and despair are expected as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to threaten our health, employment, education, and relationships. Disasters and times of fear and uncertainty have been linked to increases in the rates of depression and post-traumatic stress disorder, among other behavioral health concerns, and the COVID-19 pandemic is expected to follow the same path. Knowing how to cope with these ramifications of a pandemic is imperative for our physical and mental health.
During this presentation, Dr. Palmer will discuss the mental health consequences of financial distress and unemployment and what providers can do for patients. Dr. Schwartz and Dr. Olds will discuss mental health concerns with isolation and loneliness and what clinicians/care teams can do to help, as well as how they can take care of themselves.
