Description
The presentation will focus on the epidemiology, risk factors, outcomes, and pathophysiology of cancers developing in contemporary ART-treated individuals living with HIV. It will also focus on areas of active research and potential interventions to reduce risk of incidence cancer among people living with HIV and improve outcomes for those who develop malignancy.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Describe shift in prevalence of certain cancers in patients living with HIV.
- Review increased risk of death from lung cancer in smokers versus non-smokers living with HIV.
- Identify age-appropriate cancer screening recommendations for patients living with HIV.

Dr. Dryden-Peterson's primary focus is directed at the clinical and epidemiologic investigation of HIV and its complications in entrenched epidemics. He has conducted research in an African context for over 10 years. He is co-founder of Botswana Oncology Global Outreach (BOTSOGO) and leads a number of clinical, translational, and epidemiologic projects evaluating the role of HIV in the incidence and outcomes of cancer.
