Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Describe how clear, specific documentation affects DRG assignment, CMI, and expected mortality/LOS.
- Collaborate effectively with CDI teams to improve clinical accuracy, quality outcomes, and financial integrity.
- Explain how Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) have evolved from mainly research and clinical tools to now also measure both care quality and value.
- Consider using PROMs in one’s own specialty area to measure quality or be better prepared for government or private payer mandates requiring the collection and use of PROMs
