DESCRIPTION

This one hour online presentation will explore how the recent the drug overdose epidemic has had a resurgence, and its correlation with the increase in opioid prescribing, help understand addiction and the populations that are affected by this crisis, and allow us to establish new multidisciplinary treatment modules that are more focused on patient-centered care.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

1. Develop an understanding of addiction in the world today.
2. Participants will develop an understanding of the evolution of the drug overdose epidemic up to its current state.
3. A review of current populations affected by the drug overdose crisis, as well as past and current treatment models.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This program is intended for Physicians and other clinical staff at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.
