Colorectal Cancer in Africa 2025: Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Symposium (Hybrid)
Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Symposium
There is a paucity of published data (both clinical and research based) from within the African continent. Inflammatory bowel disease is a risk factor for colorectal cancer and clinically misdiagnosed in Africa and other limited resources settings due to lack of awareness, resources or sufficient data. In 2025, we are hosting the first IBD symposium in Africa that brings together specialists from across the globe. The aim of the program is to support collaborations across the African continent in the diagnosis and management of patients with IBD, raise awareness for both medical and surgical options in care to support clinical practice and provide an avenue for patient advocacy.
