Course Description
The Research Misconduct Prevention Module is focused primarily on federal research misconduct requirements for Public Health Service-funded research, the group of Health and Human Services Agencies, e.g. NIH, CDC and FDA, which provide the majority of Mass General Brigham federal research funding. In addition to definitions and regulatory and policy requirements, the Module also identifies what a PI should do when a research misconduct allegation is brought to his/her attention and best practices for fostering a culture of compliance and integrity within your labs and research groups. From both a regulatory and ethical perspective, as PIs we are responsible for the scientific integrity of research produced under our leadership and for instilling research ethics in our students and fellows and the junior investigators.
