This is a virtual course.
The Foundations of AI in Healthcare course is a five-session continuing medical education (CME) program designed to equip providers, nurses, and staff with a foundational understanding of artificial intelligence and its safe, effective, and ethical use across clinical, administrative, and research settings. Participants will gain essential knowledge, practical skills, and strategies for integrating AI tools into workflows while maintaining clinical oversight, patient trust, and compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
Target Audience
This activity is intended for healthcare providers (clinicians, nurses, APPs), researchers, and staff across Mass General Brigham.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Identify Epic-integrated AI tools available today and on the roadmap that support clinical workflows and decision-making.
- Describe real-world clinical use cases demonstrating how AI is applied within Epic, including examples that enhance efficiency and care delivery.
- Interpret AI-generated outputs appropriately within clinical settings, recognizing limitations and the need for clinician judgment.
- Discuss the role of interdisciplinary collaboration and clinician accountability when incorporating AI into clinical workflows.
