Please join Maria van Pelt, PhD, CRNA, FAAN to learn how to support clinicians in the aftermath of adverse events through peer to peer support programs. The talk will be followed by a panel discussion.
Target Audience
This activity is intended MGH Clinicians including trainees and administrators interested in peer support programs.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Describe the impact that catastrophic adverse events have on healthcare providers
- Describe the impact a peer support program can have on colleagues impacted by adverse patient events and other stressful situations, including the COVID-19 pandemic
- Describe ways leaders can support staff that have been impacted by an adverse event or stressful work situation
