This presentation will summarize the pathophysiology of substance use disorder (SUD), identify the short- and long-term consequences of stigma surrounding SUD, and discuss ways that we as pharmacists can combat this stigma as healthcare providers.

This activity is intended for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Summarize the pathophysiology of how a substance use disorder develops.
  2. Predict the potential short- and long-term consequences of the stigma of substance use disorder.
