Her & Now’s mission is to strengthen clinician knowledge and comfort with providing menopause and midlife care to women living with HIV.

Her & Now integrates the lived experiences and perspectives of women with HIV with clinician expertise to create a comprehensive, multidisciplinary curriculum and resources.


Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe HIV in midlife women with HIV (WWH) in the United States; Basic HIV pathophysiology, HIV surveillance data in the United States; Common comorbidities in midlife WWH that may interface/overlap with symptoms/conditions associated with menopause.
  2. Recognize the distinct stages of menopause, hormonal changes, and common symptoms and conditions associated with menopause and associated estrogen loss.
  3. Identify characteristics of menopause that differ among WWH.
  4. Examine assessment and treatment strategies for menopause in WWH, including menopausal hormone therapy.

State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. Mass General Brigham maintains responsibility for this course. Social workers completing this course receive 1.5 continuing education credit.
