Activity Description

Racial, ethnic and gender inequities are prevalent throughout society, including in healthcare, but particularly in access to mental health care and resources. This series of sessions will discuss those disparities highlighting the perspectives of people of color, their interactions with the health care system, identifying its shortcomings and potential solutions that can be implemented in practice.
 


Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to: 

  • Describe the impacts of disparities in mental health care on the U.S. healthcare system.
  • Recognize some of the drivers of inequities in practice;
  • Identify appropriate approaches to reducing treatment disparities.

Target Audience

This activity is intended for Mass General Brigham network clinician teams working primarily in primary care. The audience would include, physicians, nurses, social workers and other embedded clinicians and supporting roles engaged in providing care or resources for patients.
