Description
Racial, ethnic and gender inequities are prevalent throughout society, including in healthcare, but particularly in access to mental health care and resources. This series of sessions will discuss those disparities highlighting the perspectives of people of color, their interactions with the health care system, identifying its shortcomings and potential solutions that can be implemented in primary care.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Identify disparities in mental health care across the health care system.
- Describe the root causes, and pervasive effects, of inequities in mental health care on both children and adults.
- Implement evidence-based approaches to reduce mental health disparities and inequities.
Target Audience
This activity is intended for Mass General Brigham network clinician teams working primarily in primary care. The audience would include, physicians, nurses, social workers and other embedded clinicians and supporting roles engaged in providing care or resources for patients.
