Course Description:
The Partners Clinical Process Improvement Leadership Program (CPIP) is an inter-professional, team-based educational program for physicians, nurses, other clinicians and administrators. The aim of CPIP is to facilitate the development of skills and competencies needed to deliver high quality care with efficient use of clinical resources. The CPIP quality improvement curriculum is enhanced with simulated scenarios to reinforce key concepts and ensure the mastery of certain competencies. CPIP teams are charged with addressing a clinical problem in their environment; allowing participants to translate theory into action.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of the program, participants will be able to:
- Identify gaps in quality and efficiency of care by examining current clinical processes.
- Apply process improvement skills as a means to reduce unwarranted variation in clinical processes.
- Apply skills of primary data collection, analysis, and interpretation to understand and improve clinical processes.
- Develop leadership and communications skills required to assemble, manage and function within interdisciplinary teams in order to solve clinical process challenges.
Accreditation
Partners HealthCare System is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
