MGH Endovascular Arteriovenous Fistula: From Creation to Maintenance
The purpose of this conference is to introduce novel non-invasive endovascular approach to create fistulas (EndoAVF) in patients with chronic kidney disease. This conference will include extensive reviews of endoAVF systems, ultrasound demo for pre-procedure evaluation as well as post-op complication managements. The goal of this activity is to increase AVF creation using endovascular approach and decrease AVF primary failure rate.
Target Audience
This activity is intended for nephrologists, dialysis RNs/Techs, vascular surgeons, interventional radiologists, ultrasound technologists, and access surgeons.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Describe the mechanisms of two FDA-approved endoAVF creation devices.
- Identify candidates that are suitable for each type of endoAVF creation device.
- Evaluate fistula usability and manage endoAVF complications.
