Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementia
The following course is intended for providers who treat adult patients.
- MGB Optimizing the Care of Patients with Alzheimer's, Related Dementias & Delirium (3.00 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM)
End-of-Life Issues
- Introduction to Serious Illness Communication (2.00 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM)
- 2 credits which may be applied towards Risk Management.
Proficiency in Electronic Health Records
- This activity is eligible for 3.00 self-claimed credits based on whether you took EPIC training to obtain access to the MGB EPIC electronic medical record system. If you are audited, you will need to have a self-signed statement (attestation) that you completed the training with an approximate date & location.
- 3 credits which may be applied towards Risk Management.
Reporting Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect Training
- The Recognition, Management & Reporting of Child Maltreatment (1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM)
Domestic Violence and Sexual Violence Training

Implicit Bias
- Confronting and Reducing Unconscious Bias in Medicine (2.00 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM)

REQUIREMENTS PER LICENSING CYCLE (Every 2 years)
Opioids and Pain Management
You must complete 3 hours of education on opioids and pain management each licensing cycle. Use any combination of opioid and pain management topics from the course menu below to meet this requirement. Activities on opioid and pain management also qualify for risk management.
DEA MATE ACT: All Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)-registered practitioners must also fulfill a one-time requirement for 8-hours of education on substance use disorder by their next licensing cycle. Complete all of the activities listed below to fulfill this requirement.

Risk Management
10 Risk Management credits are required every licensing cycle. Courses that are also required & meet the Risk Management requirement include: Reading the Board's Regulations, Opioid Education, Electronic Health Records, End of Life, and Implicit Bias.
- SRN Improving Provider Health & Happiness by Beth Frates, MD (0.25 - 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM per module)
- This course has 8 modules on provider well-being that applies to all providers & can be used for up to 7.00 credits in Risk Management.
