Course Description
Process Improvement science draws upon a known set of concepts and tools and applies them in a structured, but flexible approach to solving problems.
This course will provide an overview of process improvement principals, methodology and tools that can be used to introduce change. Participants will learn how to incorporate process improvement into daily workflows with the goal of continuously improving quality and efficiency.
The course is geared for both staff new to process improvement and for those who would like to build on their current knowledge.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Describe the factors to consider when selecting a project for process improvement
- Describe process improvement tools and techniques that can be incorporated into daily workflows
- Explain how to overcome barriers to implementing process improvement
Target Audience
This activity is intended for members of the Quality and Patient Safety Committee (QPSC) and staff they work with who will benefit from the training.
