Module 1: Teaching the New Nurse
The learner who possesses some precepting experience will acquire the necessary knowledge, tools and awareness regarding their critical role in assuring that new graduate nurses, and nurses new to a particular practice area, will receive the support, education and positive orientation experience that provides a foundation from which the new nurse will flourish. This module will focus on the preceptor role and responsibilities in teaching the New Nurse.

- Understand the ways adults learn.
- Identify the various styles of adult learning.
- Explain ways to help the preceptee in developing critical thinking, clinical judgment, and clinical reasoning.
