DESCRIPTION

This one hour online presentation will be an overview of the history and development of stem cell research, its therapeutic uses for recovery and regeneration post spinal cord injury, and future development and growth of its potential in spinal cord injury.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

1. Introduce stem cell research
2. Neurobiology of spinal cord injury and spinal cord injury recovery
3. Therapeutic applications of stem cells to improve function post spinal cord injury.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This program is intended for Physicians and other clinical staff at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.

Spinal Cord Injury Fellow

Dr. Roddick completed medical school at Saba University School of Medicine, Residency in PM&R at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY and is currently one of the SCI Fellows at VA Boston and Spaulding Rehab Hospital.
