Join us for an exciting panel discussion featuring Megan Moore, PhD, MSW from Harborview Injury Prevention and Research Center, Cindy Diggs from Massachusetts General Hospital, Keyla Jackson from MassHousing, and Isaac Yablo, MA from SOAR Boston. The conversation will center around ways to address inequities and social determinants of health that contribute to injury within the community.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Describe the impact that health inequities and social determinants of health have on injury
- Determine ways to incorporate health equity and injury prevention practices in participants work
- Apply how to engage in health equity efforts outside of the medical realm, i.e. in policy and community domains
Target Audience:
This activity is intended for internal stakeholders from Brigham and Women's Hospital, as well as external stakeholders from organizations such as the Departments of Public Health, surrounding Boston-area hospitals, and our local community-based organizations. Audience members are from various backgrounds such as clinicians, researchers, public health professionals, local and state government, and the community-based non-profit sector.
