CPIP-GME (for Residents & Fellows)
Welcome to the CPIP-GME course! The goal of this effort is to support programs in ensuring that every MGB resident and clinical fellow achieves a defined level of competency in the principles of patient safety and quality improvement, as required by the ACGME and endorsed by the MGB Education Committee (MGB EC). To that end, we are excited to offer a virtual, interactive team and project-based process improvement program.
The program will take place over approximately 12 weeks. Teams (or individuals) will identify a problem in their clinical environment with an opportunity for improvement. These projects will allow participants to translate theory into action. The didactic portion will be completed asynchronously via assigned short eLearning modules. The synchronous portion will include a brief review of the content but will allow more time for teams (individuals) to use the time to apply the concepts to their individual projects and to receive coaching from CPIP faculty. There will be 2 virtual live sessions for project work and 1 session for final project report out. It is expected that trainees complete all assigned eLearning modules and attend all live zoom sessions (total of 3).
Teams (or individuals) will use the provided PowerPoint template to demonstrate the project work, this will ultimately be used for the final presentation.
