This bystander education course will provide employees with an understanding of how interpersonal racism continues to support and maintain systemic racism. Through scenario-based learning, participants will develop skills for recognizing racial bias and confronting discrimination. An overview of related Human Resources policies and practices will be given to support employees in actively dismantling racism within Mass General Brigham.

this information is exactly what we need in the work place. Our next step is to get all employees to comply; its easy to do an online training, but actions speak louder than words. Its time to go above and beyond to enforce the importance of this lesson.

Very unfortunate to know
Very unfortunate to know these stories originate from coworkers, but helps highlight how easily we can get caught up in these dynamics, regardless of our intentions. I definitely have utilized coworkers knowledge of Spanish without ever thinking about how much more work they are doing in addition to their other duties when they take the time to help me communicate with my patients.

Video is well put together. As a person of color it's great to see MGB is taking action, if only we could go worldwide that would really make a difference.

Choose your own path
While I think the scenarios were very well done, by choosing only some paths I am worried that people may miss some of the necessary outcomes when the wrong path is taken. There are wrong paths and it is much easier to choose the correct path when in alone in your office but much harder when in real time. Forcing people to see the results of "wrong choices" or more importantly the decisions that are not wrong just not the best choice, would be enlightening as well.

made me think...
These four different scenarios made me think more about how I can be a better human in general. I like the real time interaction, and getting to see all the outcomes. Very well done, I think this should be a yearly mandatory training.

Executive presence
I've witnessed the executive presence passed off as "fit" and "leadership" qualities. I hope people/managers/directors/program directors can watch this and are able to reflect on their biases.
