This bystander education course will provide employees with an understanding of how interpersonal racism continues to support and maintain systemic racism. Through scenario-based learning, participants will develop skills for recognizing racial bias and confronting discrimination. An overview of related Human Resources policies and practices will be given to support employees in actively dismantling racism within Mass General Brigham.

It's been 6 months since I lived in the U.S. but I've still gone through lots of hidden difficulties.

And.. it's hard for me to distinguish which part(at least some part) is due to racism matter and which is attributed to my language, culture, and personality matter.

This was great, timely, powerful and important. The differing perspectives of our healthcare colleague examples were informative and the program as a whole empowering towards the goals of identifying and dismantling racism where and when we see it.

I don't think this course is going to make any racist person being less of a racist. What needs to happen is that when someone complains about racists' comments and attitudes then it is taken seriously. Usually nothing happens.

So many times someone has "joked" about my accent and has asked me where I am from? or said things like "your people". 

My only hope as the going forward more diverse people are hired in this institution.

I appreciated all of the videos, but especially the one that talked about how collegues should interrupt the micro- or not so microaggressions that they see patients make toward our team members. I believe sometimes those are let go with concerns around thinking it is either not worth it or we have to just let it go because they are 'clients'.

I agree that the training videos helped create a clear visual of how to approach acts of injustice and discrimination. However, it's our responsibility to remain aware and preach what we say. When it comes to reality, these situations can feel uncomfortable and sometimes scary. It's okay to feel uncomfortable, each moment strengthens your learning curve. Listen to the whole story and act with integrity.
