Content was well composed and touched on very real experiences of employees of color at all levels. I hope this has real impact on how we conduct ourselves at MGB daily.

As a bilingual, multi-racial woman of color working in STEM/healthcare, I wouldn't even be able to assign a number to the amount of times I've been asked things like, "So where are you from from? Where are your parents from? You're Indian so you can talk to those other Indians right? Can I touch your hair? You don't look Latina, are you sure you're Latina?" and the list goes on.

I think this training did a great job of addressing different viewpoints in a firm but sensitive way, and honestly, after ten years of working at MGB, I think this is the best diversity training that we've been given to-date. Well done.

The course was great. I particularly enjoyed the videos where you were able to go back and look at how different scenarios played out. It gave me a new perspective on race and diversity throughout my establishment.

The videos were well put together. Unfortunately, I can see how these scenarios have occurred. I appreciated the different scenarios and perspectives.

Honest presentation of complex issues which often generate shame.  Honest, respectful discourse is essential.  Creating a culture where open communication is supported is essential

I spent a day at our MGH ER as a patient.  There's an inner waiting room for the hours between tests where on the huge TV was literally an all-day festival of some old cop show.  Hour after hour of watching white TV cops harass and beat up random African Americans  --- George Floyd as entertainment.  Finally it occurred to me to ask to have it stopped, and it was, but how on earth was it on in the first place?

Lauren Abbate replied on

The content was engaging and tried to bring light to the harsh experiences many people of color face. However real action, and change is required.

It gives a good understanding for people on how racism damages the institution and how a person that stands up for it can damage the work place more, when they insist on helping by doing nothing to solve it.

Owen Luk replied on

The video format from the perspectives of the 4 people was an effective way to cover the topics, as the body language and alternate endings to certain interactions helped to reinforce the effect words can have on the recipient sometimes unbeknowst to the speaker.

Philip Daly replied on

This course was helpful for understanding different points of view from individuals in all departments. It was informative seeing the systemic consequences of racism and the ways we can work towards dismantling it.
