Very enlightening and couldn't agree more to the content. Glad there is more light shed on this issue.

Agree, this was useful content, thought provoking and hope it will further the agenda of each of us taking responsibilty to act against racism.

Not sure my comment saved, but want to agree with those before me. Useful and important course that has me reflecting on my past behavior and hope my awareness will help offset my blindspots/implicit biases in general, but particularly in the workplace and with my patients.

Training was very informative and well put together. Showing the difference perspectives was very insightful.

As a white healthcare provider, I understand that this is the education we need, for our patients, and for our non-white counterparts/colleagues.

This content was very helpful, it was nice to see how different responses elicited different reactions. I was interested to see the results when I had thought I chose the correct response, but I was in fact wrong.

This was very useful to explore in different health care roles and race/ethnicities. As a woman of color, I appreciate this.

Benchize Fleuraguste replied on

Sorry that these scenarios took place.  Hopefully we can become a place where we listen and value each other not based on the color of our skin.

Elizabeth Staats replied on

The four varying scenarios were helpful to see different ways that people react and different ways to respond to situations more appropriately and professionally while keeping other people's feelings, perceptions, values and morals in mind.

I liked this course. Diversity in the work place should always be respected.

I am trying to complete my health streams and this is one of the last things to do. Is this just an open forum in relation to the videos of scenarios  about institutional racism?

Daniel Dumais replied on

Very well put together! The 4 different scenarios helped create the big picture and tie the course altogether.

Jordan Zaret replied on

This training module presented four scenarios that were well-thought out and so important. It is so important that our staff members learn these important skills and to stand against racism and discrimination. Job well done!

Nice portrayal of all the different view points. Also good to see the more obvious trangressions to the more subtle microaggressions.

The content was excellent. The different scenarios and perspectives were a valuable look into the situation from several different angles.

The four scenarios presented gave a different, but all equally important perspective on these very real problems in the workplace.

I'd love to see it come into practice everywhere, but it honestly seemed like an idealized version of how things should work. It's already a systemic cultural issue, and there's a disparagingly low number of POC in my particular setting, and even then, I generally see those POC in my hospital not in care giving rolls, but rather food service and janitorial positions. Problem being that many POC are systemically blocked from obtaining care level careers from more than just our private institutional racism.
